18 Perfectly Beautiful Photos Taken With an iPhone

Iphonethumb1

It's hard to accept that these pictures were all taken with just an iPhone camera — but it's true.

The 7th Annual iPhone Photography Awards (IPPAs) announced its winners this week, and they are truly stunning. The photographs look like they came from expensively complicated equipment, but it's actually as simple as the device in your pocket.

The star of the photographs, however, cannot be the iPhone's camera quality — instead, it is their stunning composition. Though many photographers swear by the manual viewfinder, these artists prefer the soft glow of their iPhone's LCD screens to find the objects that both captivate and stun. Read more...

U.S. World Cup Team: No Win, No Shirt, No Problems

Shirtless

Losing never felt so good.

Despite a 1-0 loss in Thursday's World Cup match against Germany, the U.S. team will advance to the knockout round, due to Portugal defeating Ghana 2-1. (Because math.)

As you can imagine, the team and the rest of the U.S. is pretty pumped about the overall outcome, regardless of the results against Germany. So pumped, in fact, that they can hardly keep their clothes on.

After learning that the team will advance, which happened just moments after their loss to Germany, the USMNT began to celebrate. Many players jumped to social media to share their excitement with fans, before even taking a shower. Read more...

FAFSA Apologizes for That Offensive 'Bridesmaids' Tweet

Kristen-wiig

Sorry, FAFSA. You can't make jokes about money.

The Office of Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) apologized on Wednesday morning for a tweet it sent out the night before from the FAFSA Twitter account that some have found offensive.

The tweet, which has since been deleted, included the Bridesmaids meme in which a drunk Kristen Wiig gets kicked out of first class on a flight after trying to sneak in, saying, "Help me, I'm poor." FAFSA added text to the meme: "If this is you, you better fill out your FAFSA." It was most likely intended as a light-hearted way to engage students on social media, but instead provoked outrage from those who deemed it offensive and mocking toward low-income students. How 13-Year-Olds Really Use Snapchat

Good_evil_snapchat

Today, I'm here to talk with you about an app. This app is called Snapchat. I warn you: Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Snapchat is used in multiple ways, but this is how I see it being used between me and my other teen friends: for fun (ugly selfies, silly pictures, etc.), or in a way my mother would be horrified to see children use it (she calls it a “porn portal”)

The reason kids/teens love it so much is because it is one of the only apps that is relatively private. Your parents have no access to it. It is the only app your mom cannot trace back to you after seeing you tagged in a photo, the way she can on Facebook or Instagram. Read more...
