In the wake of the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history, members of the LGBT community are speaking out on social media.
The shooting took place early Sunday at Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, resulting in at least 50 deaths and 53 injuries. The alleged gunman was shot and killed by police.
The shooting comes as people across the country were celebrating LGBT Pride Month. Prominent members of the LGBT community took to Twitter to share their feelings.
My thoughts and prayers are w my brothers and sisters who were at Orlando's Pulse Nightclub. RIP to those who lost their lives.

Some people shared anger over the fact that many gay men can't donate blood in the U.S., thanks to a recommendation from the Food and Drug Administration that gay men be turned away from blood banks if they have had sex within the past year.
As a gay man, I can't even donate blood for this victims of this terrorist act because of a homophobic policy.

Social media was filled with reports of people in Orlando lining up to donate blood.
Hard to convey how long this line at the blood bank is. Constant stream of water and food arriving for volunteers. Mood is light.
