Sheryl Sandberg broke her silence on Tuesday about the death of her husband and SurveyMonkey CEO Dave Goldberg, who died suddenly from severe head trauma after collapsing while exercising last week.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, Facebook's COO thanked family and friends for the "outpouring of love" and recounted memories including how she met Goldberg almost 20 years ago after moving to Los Angeles.
"He showed me the Internet for the first time, planned fun outings, took me to temple for the Jewish holidays, introduced me to much cooler music than I had ever heard," Sandberg wrote, adding that they shared 11 happy years of love, marriage and partnership. "He gave me the experience of being deeply understood, truly supported and completely and utterly loved — and I will carry that with me always.
