If Jack Dorsey wants to be the permanent CEO of Twitter, he'll need to give up his job as CEO of Square.
That's pretty much the only way to interpret a note that Twitter's board posted on Monday, saying it would only consider candidates who could make a "full-time commitment" to the job. The board said its search was proceeding with "urgency," but that it would take all the time necessary to find the right person.

If Dorsey wants to be that person, it would mean giving up his commitment to Square, the payments company he cofounded in 2010, where he still serves as CEO.
